Incheon Nest Hotel & Chinatown Tour
00:30Hello once again!
As promised in the previous post, I'd be updating on the accommodation we had for the night after the Opening Ceremony of Incheon Asian Games 2014. Thanks to Korea Tourism Organisation, we were sponsored to a night's stay at Incheon Nest Hotel, a hotel conveniently located near the Incheon International Airport of South Korea.
What's the first impression I had for this hotel? New, VERY new. I could literally smell it, if you know what I mean. New buildings usually tend to have this certain smell, probably because of the new paints or furniture etc. But besides that, the entire atmosphere was pretty much industrial and simple. Modern Minimalistic would be the adjectives that I'd use to describe this hotel.

Toilet in the Lobby
As the operations of the hotel has not been long, there are still some parts of the hotel where it is un-ready for the guests' usage. For instance, we were looking forward to using the 24hr Sauna and Swimming facilities but to our disappointment, it was currently undergoing maintenance. Kinda expected it since this is a really new hotel.
Nest Hotel Room Key
We had an extra bed added in the middle, since there's 3 of us to a room :)
I like hotels that try to play a part in saving the environment
Mavis with the door we had discovered it's amazing design
It is the door to the entire bathroom but it is also the door to the toilet,
when you opened it and flipped to the other side!
The Shower
The toiletries provided
Part of the mission was to take a group photo in the room,
and we chose to take it in the toilet (hahhas)
The Work-Desk Corner
International plugs, HDMI & LAN Cable, and USB charger ports - PLUS POINTS!
Simple dining table area
Wall-mounted TV
I must say I was very impressed and satisfied with the room. Especially the plugs! I love hotels that provide international plugs and USB charger ports because that (to me), is the most important element of a hotel room. The next morning, we went downstairs for our complimentary breakfast which was a buffet style. Love the whole white and spacious vibe of the dining area!
My breakfast of the day!
I did not manage to take a photo of the facilities since I slept early and woke up too late (oops) to be going around the hotel for photos. Here is the compilation of the facilities some of my fellow #wowkoreasupporters took
As it is still a very new hotel, though some facilities were unavailable for our usage, overall, I had a great stay at the hotel. The only downside is that the surrounding has nothing, since it is still pretty much industrial. There is a Subway Station called 용유임시역. I am not too sure of the operations but certainly, there are free shuttle buses to and fro Incheon International Airport for the guests convenience. FYI, the shuttle bus service is available at Platform 14C Area of the airport :) The hotel staff were definitely very friendly, they spoke decently good English and room service was quite prompt. IF I am transiting in South Korea or if my friends and family would like a staycation at a hotel near the airport before leaving the country, I would definitely consider this hotel. So for transit travellers, a great thumbs up for this hotel!

After we had checked out from the hotel, we proceeded to the next highlight of our trip - Chinatown and Donghwa Village tour!
Totally feeling the Chinese vibe the moment I saw this
Very Chinese indeed, hahahas
Bubbletea!!
Had our very first street food from this stall!
The ones in green are meat fillings and the ones in orange are shrimp fillings
VERY yummy and crispy steam buns! Recommended!
We each had skewed lamb meat from this small stall. Didn't manage to snap a photo of it, but it was definitely yummy too!
How can we not eat Jjangmyeon and Tangsuyook if you're in Chinatown? :)
Me in the Emperor Seat! Hahhaa
Also, we had a mission and that was to snap group shots with at least 9 different fairytales that are drawn on the walls all around the village.
My group members of the day! (L-R) Mavis, Me, Gita and RJ
#01 Alice in the Wonderland
#02 Bambi of the Animal Kingdom
#03 Cinderella
#04 Hansel & Gretel
#05 Little Red Riding Hood
#06 Little Mermaid
#07 Snow White
#08 Tinkerbelle
#09 Wizard of the Oz
Tadahh, mission complete! Hahahs. Then, we proceeded on to watch a Separktakraw Match at 2PM.
Even though Singapore lost to South Korea in this match, we did manage to clinch a Bronze medal for our Men Doubles Match at the very end. So yay! *Throws Confetti*
That's all for today's post then!
Til then,
